Summer crowds have disappeared yet warm weather is in full force with very pleasant water temperatures . If you enjoy fishing, November can be amazing. Pompano, spot, bluefish, flounder and whiting are all in abundance, and surf fishing can be fantastic. Restaurants and shops are all open, and a sunset stroll along the pedestrian walkway on our, new beautiful bridge is spectacular. The peak of the bridge provides panoramic views in all directions. Due to Hurricane Florence last September, many homes on Topsail Island are still undergoing repair which has created a shortage of vacation homes for rent this year.
Slip Away was completely remodeled after the hurricane with a beautiful, new color scheme. An interior designer assisted us with the remodeling, and we believe the final product is beautiful and hope you will agree.
Slip Away is a beautiful, spacious four bedroom, three bath beach house located on Topsail Island and provides the best of both worlds. A ninety second walk will take you to the ocean. A less than one minute walk in the other direction will lead you to the sound where you can watch spectacular sunsets. Bring your boat (30' limit) or jet ski and launch it using our private neighborhood boat ramp; then dock it for the duration of your stay at one of our 3 slips in the nearby canal. Lunch at the picnic table then enjoy sunbathing on the upper deck of the house or read a favorite book sitting in the porch swing in the shade of the lower deck.

More About the House: The 2400 sq. ft. reverse floor plan includes three bedrooms and two baths on the first floor as well as a laundry. The second floor consists of the living / dining / kitchen area and a fourth bedroom and bath. There are hardwood floors in the dining & kitchen areas, Berber carpet in the living room and bedrooms, and tile in the bathrooms. Lots of ceiling fans and windows provide beautiful views and breezes.
There are five TVs in the house: one in the living room with a DVD player, and one in each bedroom. There is a second DVD player in one of the first floor bedrooms.
Activities:: There are many activities for the entire family nearby: surf & pier fishing; charter boat fishing, both near-shore and deep sea; crabbing & clamming; miniature golf, golf courses on the mainland; lots of shopping including several very nice art galleries; Internet cafes; roller skating; surf board, jet ski, & kayak rentals; bicycle rentals (the towns of Surf City and Topsail Beach have paved bicycle lanes); and a wide variety of restaurants from very casual to elegant. Local events that may interest you include: the Kiwanis Sun Fest (May), July 4 Fireworks, the King Mackerel Tournament (Aug.), the Snead's Ferry Shrimp Festival (Aug.), Autumn with Topsail (Oct.), & the Holiday Boat Flotilla (Nov.). During the summer visit the Sea Turtle Hospital, one of only a few such facilities in the US that cares for & rehabilitates injured sea turtles. Twice yearly you may observe the staff as they return rehabilitated turtles to the sea.
Area: Topsail Island is a family oriented beach. Visitors enjoy Topsail, returning year after year, because of the many miles of uncrowded sandy beaches. Perfect for swimming, walking, sunbathing, fishing, or simply relaxing. You will fall in love with the island. Our neighborhood is located on the southern end of Topsail. But don't limit yourself to the beach. Be sure to spend some time enjoying the sound where you will see interesting wildlife.
No Pet Policy: We can not make exceptions to our "no pet" policy. Many of our tenants choose Slip Away because of such. The nicer homes on the island likewise follow a "no pet" policy. There are countless examples of tenants coming into pet friendly houses to find soiled carpet and furniture, shedding hair, fleas, etc. We own two collies and a cat but do not bring them to the beach and will not rent a pet friendly house for our personal use.

Slip Away has a reverse floor plan. Three bedrooms and two baths are located on the first floor as well as the laundry. The master bedroom has a queen bed, 32 inch flatscreen TV and a large walk-in closet. The second bedroom has a set of bunk beds with a double mattress on the bottom and a twin mattress on the top, a walk-in closet, and a 32 inch flatscreen TV with a DVD player. The third bedroom on this floor (known as the "middle" room and which is located between the master and the bunk bedrooms) has a queen bed and a 32 inch flatscreen TV. The fourth bedroom is located on the top floor with the kitchen, dining, and living areas. It also has a queen bed with a TV and an en suite bathroom. All beds have pillows and blankets or comforters. You will need to bring sheets, bath towels, and beach towels. If this is not convenient, we can recommend a local rental company which will conveniently provide your linens!

All three bathrooms are very spacious with lots of vanity space, drawers, cabinets, and linen closets. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom with shower, two sinks and a separately enclosed toilet. The bunk bedroom and the middle bedroom share a bath which has a tub/shower combination along with two sinks and toilet. The fourth bedroom which is located on the top floor also has an en suite bath with a tub/shower combination, two sinks and toilet.

There are two decks on the back of the house extending the width of the house. There is a large picnic table on the upper deck, 2 chaise lounges, and chairs; on the lower deck - a nice porch swing.
There is sufficient parking for two cars under the house and two cars in the driveways (or any combination of four cars & boat trailers.) No other parking is allowed.
