The welcoming deck has an Amish loveseat glider and a single seat rocker plus an alfresco dining area for 2. There is a swing under the deck to enjoy some quiet outdoor time by the creek. The entire lower level 700sf suite is yours alone! The private entrance opens to a small family room / kitchenette area with a large TV and Roku for streaming (we do not have satellite or cable channels). Down the hall is a roomy bathroom with a tub shower combo and a very large bedroom with a king bed and cozy reading area. 2 twin size Aerobeds are available upon request for children for an additional housekeeping fee. MAXIMUM 4 guests at this time please, and no more than 2 adults.
Suite includes a microwave, toaster, coffee maker (drip and pods), complimentary coffee, continental breakfast for 2 days and a refrigerator/freezer. All linens and towels are included. All windows look out onto woods with a wonderful cascading babbling creek underneath. Let the peaceful sounds of nature lull you to sleep as you enjoy the fresh mountain air. Please no food left outdoors as we do have bears and raccoons that visit. Never leave children unattended!!
We do not have air conditioning, nor have we felt the need to ever have it installed. We have portable as well as ceiling fans and a dehumidifier in the bedroom. We find that adequate even in deepest summer with the comfortably low to mid 60's night time temperatures. Please enjoy this fresh, clean mountain air!
This suite is quiet and tranquil, with hosts on site to assist if needed. Perfect for a couple’s get away!
Hound Ears is a very quiet, private, gated community with wonderful streets for a challenging, hilly walk or miles of community hiking trails to take in nature and fabulous views just about a mile from the house. Hiking maps are provided for your personal use. Almost every day we see a family of deer grazing near the house and a baby bear and raccoon family routinely visit, so again, no food left outside, please. Unfortunately there are no outdoor play areas for children so we discourage bringing children under 8 years of age.
Enjoy refreshing peace and solitude with close proximity to Boone, Blowing Rock, Beech Mountain, Grandfather Mountain, Linnville and Banner Elk for shopping, hiking, sight seeing and of course, all the notable ski and tourist resort destinations! Only a few miles to Grandfather Mountain, local wineries and breweries and we are only about 30 miles from the Tennessee border.
